Heavy Truck Driver Job Description
- Must possess experience in mountain driving.
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks for the transport of goods and materials.
- Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and maintain oversight of all aspects of the vehicle.
Job Requirements:
- Proficient in English or French.
- Must have completed secondary (high) school or have equivalent experience.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant industry experience is desired.
- Required licenses include air brake (Z) endorsement, class 1 or A, class 1/1F/A (semi-trailer trucks), class 3/3F/DF (trailer trucks, vehicles with more than three axles), and class 5/5F/G (cars, small trucks, and other 2-axle vehicles).
- Ability to lift over 45 kg (100 lbs).
- Strong interpersonal skills, organized, reliable, good team player, hardworking, and patient.

Experience and Specialization:
Documentation Knowledge:
- Proficient in driver logbooks and inspection reports (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip).
Type of Trucking and Equipment:
- Experience with logging, highway, and straight trucks (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles).
Communication Systems Experience:
- Familiar with Citizens Band (CB) radios.
Transportation/Travel Experience:
- Experience with local, provincial/territorial, regional, long-haul, and short-haul travel.

- Must possess a valid passport.

Transportation/Travel Information:
- Capable of driving manual transmission vehicles.
